The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) ePhyto Solution has emerged as a pioneering digital tool for facilitating the electronic exchange of phytosanitary certificates between trading partners, streamlining trade processes, and enhancing global food security. Building upon this success, there is a growing impetus to extend the benefits of digitalization to other trade-related documents, particularly in the context of the Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific (CPTA).
The expert group meeting will discuss the feasibility, benefits, and challenges of upscaling the IPPC ePhyto Solution to encompass other trade-related documents, with key recommendations to support the implementation of CPTA.
The meeting will be held back-to-back with the ad-hoc session of the Standing Committee of CPTA.
